Oakencroft has just celebrated our 25th Anniversary, a
milestone for our distinguished winery, the oldest
in Albemarle County.
We
have won medals for every vintage produced since
1983 and we owe our success to our dedicated loyal
staff, several of whom have been with us since the
beginning.
I
am so proud of Oakencroft’s array of fine Virginia
wines and our philosophy has been to make varietals
to suit different palates. They have all been immensely
popular. So too, our beautiful winery setting by our
farm lake where so many young brides have been married.
Thousands of wine lovers have sipped our wines, as
they sat and picnicked, watching our wild birds who
live here year round.
The
time has come, however, where I plan to retire from
the winery business and close Oakencroft Winery forever.
We
will be open until December 31st so there are still
six more months to visit our Tasting Room, telephone
or e-mail your wine orders. Also check out our five
remaining events, July 4th, July 26th, August 31st
and September 1st, October 4th and 5th and December
6th and 7th on www.oakencroft.com.
We
have been pioneers in the Virginia wine industry and
a leader in the Monticello viticultural area. If you
share our love of history, don’t miss the opportunity
to buy Oakencroft wines to enjoy now and cellar some
of our unique reds which are only available in our
Tasting Room. Various wine discounts will be available
throughout the remainder of the year on-line and in
our Tasting Room.
Cheers!
